We are now in the Michelin 'Eating Out in Pubs' Guide 2008.
This is in recognition of (and a celebration of) 'Eating good food in informal surroundings'.
We are also in the RED Michelin Guide for our 'robust confident cooking' and 'excellent wine list' - thank you Mr Michelin Man

We reached the finals for the Freehouse of the Year in the Publican Awards 2007. To quote the Publican: "The calibre of entries once again proves a real commitment and passion for excellence in the licensed trade. This year the judges found it particularly challenging to select a shortlist of just six finalists from so many high quality entries".

| Accolade for the Harris Arms
2006 has been good for us - after winning the Licensees of the Year award in the Good Pub Guide, we also achieved the 'Customer First' accreditation. This is a government award that is extremely hard to achieve, as you have to prove traceability of items on your menu, as well as demonstrate quality customer care and compliance with trading standards legislation.
This award is incredibly important to us, as we are passionate about supporting local producers and suppliers, especially at a time when our customers want assurance of the traceability of their food.
Oh, and we were also finalists for 'Most Distinctive Local Menu 2006' and `Best Chef of the Year 2006' with Devon Life magazine - thanks again to all our customers for voting for us!

| The Good Pub Guide 2006 : Licensees of the Year
We are delighted to win 'Licensees of the Year 2006' from the Good Pub Guide for the 'warmth of our enthusiasm and friendly welcome' as well as being voted 'one of the top four wine pubs in Britain'. This year is also the first time we have a full entry in the guide. Thank you for your support!

We have just won the "Wine Offering of the Year", which is a national award from the Publican magazine.
As this is a trade award, it is extremely hard to win, so we are delighted to add it to "Country Pub of the Year" which we won back in May in Devon Life Magazine.
Our Food & Wine Appreciation Society was launched in March 2004 with an Australian wine tasting. followed up by Italian, Spanish and French events throughout the year.
All proved to be very successful and we ended with a Special "Celebration of Devon" evening in October, matching local produce with Old and New World Wines. |
